“In 1970, I lived on 16^th Avenue between Lawton and Moraga. From our living room, with my wife, we often watched the sunset loving over a beautiful building that was then the Shriner’s hospital for children. Driving by I always admired this brick building with the majestic tree on its front lawn. It is then no wonder that when my son suggested I moved into it fifty years later I immediately accepted it. It was good choice. My life was simplified. I no longer had to worry about feeding myself, getting my laundry done, and hire a woman to clean a house that had become too big for me.
